Know the No-No’s!

You should be aware that assignors and schedulers lead regular lives outside of their assigning duties. They have regular families and regular day-jobs. Keep these tips in mind when communicating with your assignor:

Limit the number of times you phone your assignor. It can feel like harassment if you call every other day with a new question, concern or piece of information.

Avoid calling your assignor late at night. Nobody likes to wake up to a ringing telephone.

Resist the temptation to call your assignor at his day-job. His assigning duties are likely a side venture and his employer probably will frown on assigning business taking place during work hours.

Of course, if it’s an emergency you should phone your assignor immediately. Just make sure your definition of an emergency is the same as your assignor’s.
