The National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) recently renewed its partnership with an organization it has long supported. NASO President Bill Topp has been appointed to the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Advisory Council.
PCA is a nonprofit dedicated to creating a positive environment in youth sports. The organization provides live workshops and online training that blend the latest sports and educational psychology with insights from professional and collegiate athletes and coaches. Research shows PCA’s programs improve teamwork and confidence among youth athletes while helping coaches model the behaviors that drive positive development.
NASO’s Role in PCA
This marks Topp’s first term on the PCA advisory council, but NASO has a history of representation there.
- Barry Mano, NASO founder and former president, previously served on the council and continues as a special advisor. Mano also serves as Referee’s Chief Strategy Officer and Publisher.
“I’m looking forward to carrying on Barry’s longstanding support of the PCA on behalf of NASO,” Topp said. “Well-grounded coaches make the game and officiating better.”
